UU Labs
Privacy Policy
LevelPod is developed and published by UU Labs, Australia. This policy explains how the
LevelPod Android application and website handle information.
Effective 7 August 2026
The short version
- Your subscriptions, downloads, queue, listening history and settings stay on your device.
- Podcast audio is analysed and normalised on your device. It is not uploaded to UU Labs.
- LevelPod connects directly to Apple and the podcast providers needed for features you request.
- UU Labs does not sell personal information or use LevelPod activity for advertising.
Information stored on your device
LevelPod stores information needed to operate the app, including:
- podcast subscriptions and RSS feed addresses;
- podcast and episode metadata, descriptions and artwork references;
- downloaded or imported audio and associated download state;
- queue contents, Queue History, Played state, playback position and listening totals;
- per-podcast playback preferences, volume and intro/outro skip settings;
- audio-analysis results and loudness profiles used for normalised playback;
- app appearance, accessibility, playback, storage and network preferences; and
- imported themes and user-created theme settings.
This information remains in LevelPod's Android app storage or in a location you explicitly
choose for an import or export. UU Labs does not receive it. Android, your device
manufacturer, file provider or backup software may handle files according to your device
configuration and their own policies.
You can remove episodes, downloads, history, subscriptions and themes using LevelPod's
controls. You can clear remaining app data through Android settings or remove it by
uninstalling LevelPod. Files imported from outside LevelPod are not deleted unless the
relevant action clearly says they will be deleted.
Network requests and third parties
LevelPod makes network requests only to provide features you use.
Apple podcast discovery
When you search or browse podcast charts and categories, LevelPod sends the search terms,
selected country or storefront and normal connection information to Apple's podcast
search, lookup and marketing-tools services. Apple may receive your IP address, user agent
and request details under Apple's privacy policy.
UU Labs does not receive or retain those searches.
Podcast publishers and hosting providers
When you add or refresh an RSS feed, view artwork, or download or play media, LevelPod
connects directly to the relevant feed, image or media host. Those providers may receive
your IP address, user agent, requested URL, request time and other ordinary connection
information. Providers are independent of UU Labs and may operate in any country. Their
privacy practices are governed by their own policies.
If you manually enter an RSS address or import a local file, LevelPod uses the address or
file you selected. LevelPod does not send a list of your subscriptions or listening
history to UU Labs.
Google Play
Google Play processes app purchase, installation, update, licensing, review and refund
activity under Google's privacy policy.
UU Labs may receive transaction records, country, app-version, device-compatibility,
crash/ANR and aggregated store-performance information made available by Google Play.
LevelPod does not receive your full payment-card details.
Information UU Labs receives
The LevelPod app currently has no UU Labs account system, advertising SDK, third-party
analytics SDK or automatic crash-report upload.
UU Labs may receive information when you deliberately contact us, submit feedback, post a
store review or send diagnostic material. This may include your name or email address,
message, device and app version, screenshots, files or other information you choose to
provide. Do not include private podcast, filesystem or account information unless it is
necessary for your support request.
We use support information to answer the request, diagnose issues, prevent abuse and
improve LevelPod. We retain it only as long as reasonably needed for those purposes,
legal obligations and business records, then delete or de-identify it where practical.
Website
The LevelPod website is a static website hosted by Microsoft Azure. UU Labs does not place
advertising or analytics scripts on the site and does not use the site to build visitor
profiles. Microsoft and ordinary internet infrastructure providers may process IP
addresses, request times, browser or device information and security logs as needed to
deliver and protect the site under Microsoft's privacy statement
and their retention practices.
The website does not currently offer user accounts, comments or direct data-entry forms.
Android permissions
LevelPod may request or use:
- internet and network-state access for discovery, feeds, artwork and episode media;
- foreground media-playback service access so audio can continue while the app is not visible;
- notification permission so Android can show playback and background-work status; and
- vibration for optional playback-control feedback.
LevelPod does not request location, contacts, camera, microphone, SMS or call-log permission.
Selling, advertising and profiling
UU Labs does not sell or rent personal information. LevelPod contains no third-party
advertising and does not create an advertising profile from subscriptions or listening
behavior. LevelPod's audio processing provides playback functionality; it is not used to
infer identity, health, interests or other personal characteristics.
Security and international processing
LevelPod relies on Android's app sandbox and scoped user-selected file access to protect
local data. You are responsible for securing your device and backups. No system can be
guaranteed completely secure.
Apple, Google, Microsoft Azure and podcast hosting providers may process ordinary
connection or transaction information outside Australia, including in the United States
and other regions where they or their service providers operate. UU Labs does not control
the location or retention of requests made directly to a podcast provider selected by you.
Children
LevelPod is a general-audience podcast player and is not directed to children. Podcast
content is provided by independent publishers and can cover a broad range of age
classifications. Parents and guardians should supervise podcast selection and use device
or store parental controls where appropriate.
Access, correction, deletion and complaints
Most LevelPod information is held only on your device, where you can inspect or delete it
using the app and Android controls. UU Labs cannot retrieve local app data from your device.
For personal information that UU Labs may hold through support correspondence or Google
Play business records, you may request access, correction or deletion, or make a privacy
complaint, by contacting privacy@uulabs.com.au.
Please describe your request and provide enough information for us to identify the relevant
correspondence or record. We aim to acknowledge privacy complaints promptly and respond
within 30 days where practicable.
If you are not satisfied with our response, you may be entitled to contact the
Office of the Australian Information Commissioner
or the privacy regulator in your jurisdiction.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy when LevelPod's features, providers or legal obligations change.
The current version and effective date will remain on this page. Material changes will be
reflected in the app or store listing where required.
